Since 2005, the collection has been displayed in the form of temporary installations at a private residence located in Regent’s Park.

Crash brings together a selection of powerful works that resonate with the turbulence of our times. Albert Oehlen’s stormy landscape opens the space, where abstraction and figuration intertwine to depict various states of dismantlement and disintegration. Sarah Lucas’ exploded sofa, Matias Faldbakken’s crushed locker, and Wade Guyton’s unfolded chair are brutal assaults on the banality of everyday life. Sergej Jensen’s expansive spillage evokes the chaotic energy of Christopher Wool’s Rorschach-inspired silkscreen, whose dripping limbs connect to Bruce Nauman’s severed heads, Maria Lassnig’s headless body, and Robert Gober’s detached arm. These works invoke art’s ancient apotropaic function, conjuring dark forces to keep them at bay. Their power lies not only in their dark humor but also in our morbid fascination with disaster—we simply can’t look away.

CrashCranford Collection exhibition at Art Genève, Switzerland30.01.2025 > 02.02.2025Curated by Anne Pontegnie Cranford Collection is a London-based contemporary art collection founded in 1999 by Muriel and Freddy Salem.
